Bicycle Day Book Club
Welcome Misfit Reader!
All month we are honoring Dr. Albert Hofmann and his fateful bicycle ride after becoming the first human being to intentionally ingest LSD—the mind altering drug he originally synthesized three years earlier. On April 19th 1943, Hofmann intentionally took 250 micrograms of LSD at Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland. This date is fondly known to psychonauts as "Bicycle Day" on account of Hofmann’s now infamous ride home, during which the psychedelic effects of the drug began to fully take hold.
We invite you to join us in reading LSD: My Problem Child by Dr. Albert Hofmann as part of our Bicycle Day Book Club.
By registering for book club (donation optional) you are joining a community of like-minded Misfit Readers.
You can purchase the book online or download a copy for free from MAPS here.
Start reading as soon as you get your copy and take refuge in the knowledge that others in our community are reading along with you.
At the end of April we'll gather for a virtual meeting to discuss the book and our experiences reading it.
But you don't have to wait until the end of the month to hear Erik Davis' thoughts on it.
April 19th is Bicycle Day and we've organized a special online *Digital Darshan* with Erik Davis, who will give a talk titled "LSD: Still a Problem Child.”
As a member of Bicycle Day Book Club you’ll be eligible for a discounted "Sangha price” ticket to this Digital Darshan. Or you can choose to become a Psychedelic Sangha member for the same initial price and get additional discounts on future events and groovy merchandise!
Please feel free to email us with any questions or comments.
